The Royal Watercolour Society invites artists to submit works to the 2010 competition [formerly known as the 21st Century Watercolour Competition]. Celebrating its 12 anniversary, this open competition is a passionate celebration of watercolour as a vibrant medium for the 21st century. Unlike other painting competitions, the Royal Watercolour Society Open Competition identifies and supports artists of any age and is not prescriptive about size or subject matter. It is also a celebration of the water-soluble medium. All works produced in water based mediums, watercolour, acrylic and gouache are eligible. Work can be sent in from artists worldwide, and there are 13 regional pick-up points around the UK, bringing submisssions to Bankside Gallery in February.
