The online submissions system is now open for the 2010 Open Awards, the photography competition accessible to everyone. The AOP Open it is the only competition in which established professionals and occasional snappers compete on equal terms. The competition annually attracts around 1500 entries from around the world and each year professional photographers, assistants, students and amateurs battle it out to be selected for the exhibition at the AOP Gallery. For everyone who is passionate about photography, the Open provides the perfect opportunity to gain recognition for their work. There are no categories or themes in this competition – its aim is to showcase outstanding individual images - so the choice of work submitted is entirely up to the photographer.
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals. The judges will be announced in May and judging will take place in June.
The gala evening will be held in August at the AOP Gallery in Shoreditch, East London. Awards will be presented to the ‘Best in Show’, the ‘Public Choice’ winner and also a ‘Judge’s Choice’ selected by each of the judges.
The chosen images will be exhibited in August at the AOP Gallery and also showcased on the Awards website.
The entry system is now open and the deadline is May 16, 2010. Each image costs £15 to enter. For more information visit www.the-awards.com.
